Hey Friends!

Yes, here we are it is already JULY 1st!  How did time skip through June so quickly!  Summer is actually more of an "off month" for me since it is blazing hot here!  I belong to several senior photography groups that have photographers from all parts of the country.  It is hard for me to fathom that some cannot shoot between the months of December and March!  Their busy season starts really in May and goes through their summer!  I will say, the seniors would look awesome because Ashley's hair and makeup never seems to show flaws of heat, but I would look like a hot mess and the smell may not be the best! ha! ha!  I know, "TMI"~ !

Because it is summer, my typical blogging schedule has been a little "whackadoo".   I am squeezing sessions in here and there while getting in some quality time.   I will say, the quality time is pretty much consisting of me being a chauffeur or a food delivery person.  Ha! Ha!  However, I wouldn't trade that role for the entire world.   My boys have supported my career and even help me throughout the year, so being able to cater to a few of their needs is my pleasure.

With me working more "part-time" over the summer I still need to share a few 2018 seniors.  Their sessions were towards the end of the year and so we got caught up in the end of year excitement, delivering albums, etc that the session didn't get to blog.    This is one of those sessions!

Meet Mariel of Cinco Ranch High School!  The Class of 2018 graduate is a sibling of one of my former seniors, Julia who is now at Vanderbilt University. As I have said time and again, photographing siblings is always fun.  The personalities being completely different always fascinates me; even when my own two boys are opposite, genetics just blow my mind.

Mariel starts off a little quiet, but this bright and beautiful soul just lights up after warming up a bit.  Mariel has participated in many activities through the years, her top two being dance and playing the bassoon.  With bassoon being her favorite, let's just say getting the right angle where that bassoon made for a flattering shot was not the easiest! ha!  ha!  However, we pulled it off as I absolutely love how they turned out.

Mariel is not only stunning she is also a National Merit Commendation AP Scholar with Distinction 3 time Texas Music Educators Association,  All-Area Competitor Drum Major of CRHS Band 4 year member of top band ensemble at Cinco, 1st chair for 3 years, Science NHS, Spanish NHS, and National Honor Society.

Mariel decided to attend Purdue University and major in Chemical Engineering.   Yes, following in her parents' footsteps seems to be the perfect path for Mariel!  I have no doubt that Mariel will be a success at Purdue and they are blessed to have her!

Enjoy her images below as I truly enjoyed capturing them!  Hair and makeup by Ashley Carlton
