Katy Senior Photographer | Future Farmers of America Senior | Seven Lakes High School

Let's just say it...I want a GOAT!!!  I mean seriously!  When I met Meg and we discussed her love of FFA along with her goats, it was then that I knew we would connect!  Meg attends Seven Lakes High School and raises goats for FFA.   She not only has her FFA goats, she also has goats on her family's ranch a little west of Katy.

A little back story.   Meg's mom arranged the shoot, but didn't attend the shoot.   Often times I recommend that Mom stay behind because honestly, it can cause the senior to be a little more nervous.   You would think it would be the opposite; but a mom's nerves can be transparent and then the senior will be less natural.   When I suggested to Meg's mom that she enjoy her afternoon and not worry about joining;  little did she know that a quick plan was going to come into action.   It was time for a field trip...I mean LITERALLY!   At the moment I had no idea we would be doing this...it was when I spoke with Meg and she shared her love of a particular goat named, "Cas" that it was clear we were headed west.  Not only were there goats..there were donkeys, horses, lamas, cows, sheep...well, you get the idea... along with an old caboose and a yellow brick road!!!  People...this is a photographer's dream come true!   Yes...I am speaking with lots of exclamation points because I am that excited! ha! ha!    "Cas" the goat loves Meg...I mean truly loves her.  He comes when she calls him and even kisses her....

Of course, we visited the Katy ISD barns and met her 2 goats that she is raising this year.  They  were so fun and so cute...I still can't believe that they respond to their names.    You can probably tell this was my first FFA senior photo session and wow what a way to get introduced!

About Meg...Meg will be showing her goats at this year's Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo as well as the Fort Bend County Livestock Show and Rodeo.   She is planning to attend Stephen F. Austin State University and major in Agriculture.    Along with her love of agriculture; she also wanted to highlight her love for Camp Mystic.   Meg has been attending Camp Mystic since she was in elementary; so highlighting such an important part of her youth was important.  Enough of my babbling...Enjoy!    Oh...and I added a few fun outtakes as we were having way too much fun!!!  xo Nikki
