Today is such an important day for our country! In case you didn't hear--Today is the day we choose our President! Oh...and it appears to be very stressful! Yeah, I know, you probably didn't know that. So I figure providing some sweet solace of images reflecting differences being matched with love, tenderness and adoration were just what we needed. I think when someone is rescued they are "freed". In the middle of all of the anger and frustration, I look at my sweet senior model squad member, Meghan and I think about her and the relationship she has with "Mac" (The horse) and "Opal" (the dog) . It reminds me of that thing called unconditional love and all of the traits mentioned above. The love that is just grateful for getting a little attention and most of all rescued and ultimately free! Both of these sweet creatures are rescues. "Mac", a rescue horse that is part of training at Whipple Tree Farm in Richmond and "Opal" that is the added family member to Meghan's home. These creatures are so loved and so appreciated, it was so special for Meghan to honor them in her senior session.
A little about Meghan. First of all, I didn't know if this beauty would even be able to do her session. Her family suffered an unimaginable loss a couple of weeks prior to her session. Her cousin, who was like her brother died tragically. After careful thought Meghan wanted to continue to do the shoot. My son, Cole joined us on the shoot and between the two of us we tried to make her laugh. I think Meghan couldn't help but laugh at our nonsense and Cole's dry sense of humor. I am so proud of you Meghan for your strength and your grace while dealing with such loss. I am confident Ben would be so proud of you too and I know he would also love your pictures.
Meghan is a senior at Seven Lakes High School and plans to ride horses for Texas Tech's equestrian team. She would like to major in Business but also has a LOVE for photography. Between horses, photography (showcased also and some of my favorite images)...and oh she also plays the ukelele (see images below also!) she is a busy young lady! Enjoy Meghan's session....I know looking at them still makes me smile. xox-Nikki
